- The Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA) announced that GA Telesis is the group’s newest member. GA Telesis offers support services to the aerospace industry.
- Abdol Moabery, president and CEO of GA Telesis, LLC said, “Aircraft fleet requirements will grow exponentially in the coming 20 years.” The company sees the recycling and reuse of aviation components as “intelligently defining aviation.”
- The executive director of AFRA, Martin Frassignes, anticipates working with regulatory and legislative officials in the U.S. and Europe in order to support sustainability within the end-of-life sector in the aviation industry.

The Washington, D.C.-based AFRA specializes in environmentally responsible management for end-of-service aircraft. 68 companies are members of the non-profit; 25 organizations are currently AFRA-accredited.
In 2013, Alcoa and Boeing announced an initiative that would include recycling up to eight million pounds of aerospace aluminum from Boeing wings and fuselages.
