- TFI is based in Scottsdale, AZ, and provides environmental services and hazardous waste management.

TFI collects and processes fluids and recycles used oil, solvents and oil filters. The company operates over 25 facilities that convert recyclable waste materials into resources like clean water, raw materials and industrial fuels.
Alan S. McKim, the Chairman and CEO of Clean Harbors said, "The acquisition of TFI aligns with our strategy to expand our environmental services customer base and drive incremental volumes into our hazardous waste disposal facilities. TFI ideally complements our SK (Safety-Kleen) Environmental Services network as it strengthens our presence in the western U.S. by providing density in certain regions while also opening new local markets to Clean Harbors."
Clean Harbors owns Safety-Kleen, its subsidiary that acts as a used oil recycler and refiner.
