- The Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) announced that it has named Dwight Howard (no relation to the Houston Rockets center) as Director of Industry Relations and a consultant for the association’s subsidiary, ARA Product Services.
- Howard’s background includes a position as an account executive for Hollander, and Director of Supplier Relations for APU Solutions. He has a background in the automotive recycling industry, including a decade of experience at GreenLeaf Auto Recyclers.
- In his new capacity, Howard will concentrate on expanding ARADirect, an online salvage vehicle auction platform that went live in 2013.

The ARA was founded in 1943, and supports the reuse and recycling of auto parts. The association represents more than 4,500 vehicle recycling facilities across the U.S. and 14 countries around the globe.
The ARA spearheads projects including the Certified Automotive Recycler Program (CAR), Green Recycled Parts and ECar.
