- A landlord in Camden, NJ has filed a lawsuit against a recycling company, accusing the tenant of turning the warehouse into an “environmental catastrophe.”
- Harris Camden Realty LLC alleges that eCullet Inc., a glass recycling firm based in California, amassed over 20,000 tons of waste inside the facility
- The suit requests a court order that would require eCullet to clean-up the site. The cost to restore the site comes with an estimated $2 million price tag. It also asks the judge to order recycling to continue at the site, in addition to requiring the return of any equipment that has been removed from the warehouse.

The lawsuit also makes allegations that the facility contains substantial amounts of crystalline silica. The lawsuit further requests an immediate ruling in the case.
According to the lawsuit, an executive at eCullet said the firm has the right to store “unprocessed residue” on the site, however, maintains that the recycler violated its lease and is breaking city laws.
