Dive Insight:
Novelis said it will work with the beverage industry as it transitions to the new material. The aluminum rolling and recycling company will encourage the sweeping adoption of high-recycled-content aluminum by sharing production knowledge in order to certify the material hews to parameters established by SCS Global Services, an auditing firm that certifies recycled content.
The company has invested half a billion dollars in the past two years in order to double its use of recyclables. Novelis has set a goal to recycle 80% of its aluminum by 2020.
