Dive Brief:
- Conyers, GA-based Pratt Industries announced plans to build a corrugated box plant in Beloit, WI.
- The facility is expected to be operational by January 2016 and will measure 350,000 square feet and cost around $52 million to construct.
- The facility will transform corrugated container board originating from recycled paper mills into sheets, which will be converted into boxes.
Dive Insight:
The company said it is the fifth-largest producer of boxes in the U.S. The plant anticipates manufacturing around 600 recycled boxes daily, which will help reduce reliance on trees.
In addition, the facility is installing innovative water reclamation technology into the plant. At some point, the system will not release any discharge at all into the local sewer.
