In 2013, Waste Management announced it was expanding into the oil and fracking waste sector as well. The previous year, the waste and recycling firm had identified oil field waste removal as a growth industry, in alignment with analyst predictions that identified fracking waste removal services as an industry valued at $30 billion per year. Waste Management is currently the largest waste and recycling hauler in the country.
