Job Description

Georgia Pacific is looking for a National Business Development Manager to join our team! Georgia Pacific has developed a technology that can reclaim the previously unrecyclable commercial waste going to landfills today. This individual will create, develop, and execute new business growth opportunities, focusing initially on our first installation on the West Coast with the goal to grow nationally.

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes: 

  • Selling a new-to-world waste recycling technology to Fortune 500 companies and large municipalities across the United States

  • Negotiating complex municipal solid waste (MSW) supply deals to process 300,000+ tons/year of MSW

  • Working closely with a team based in Atlanta but traveling 30 to 70% of the time (predominantly domestic)

  • Owning the US market development efforts for this new technology

 

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Five years or more of commercial development experience

  • Experience negotiating large multimillion-dollar multiyear contracts

  • Willing and able to travel 30 to 70% of the time within in the U.S.

  • Experience selling recycling or waste management projects to municipalities or companies, or evaluating waste management / recycling projects on behalf of a municipality or company

  • Experience communicating, negotiating, and selling to senior government officials and/or company executives

  • Experience writing proposals (or leading efforts with a bid writer) for waste management projects

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (creating spreadsheets & entering data), Outlook (scheduling meeting invites & emailing), PowerPoint (creating & giving presentations) and Word (creating and modifying documents and tables)

What Will Put You Ahead?                                                                                                                                                                                            Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Experience selling landfill alternatives or diversion waste technologies

  • Experience working in multiple locations in the Unites States

  • Deep waste industry network

  • Experience leading teams
