Minneapolis launched its single-sort program in November of 2012, and has experienced a 50% increase in the volumes of recycling collected. Minnesota's recycling rate is hovering around 45%, with officials seeking to raise it to 80%. A statewide beverage deposit is being considered as an option to increase the rates.
