Dive Brief:

• The Denver Public Works (DPW) department announced a pilot program created to prevent recyclables from ending up at landfills.
• The DPW and Denver Parks and Recreation placed thirteen purple recycling bins at strategic locations throughout Washington Park and Cheesman Park. 
• The program will run for six months. If successful, it will be extended to more city parks.
