- Eklutna Inc., based in Eagle River, Alaska, has accused the city of neglecting to pay out revenue for gas sold by the landfill to Doyon Utilities.
- According to the settlement under the North Anchorage Land Agreement, the city is compelled to split revenues from public interest lands with Eklutna. The city maintains that Eklutna's claims aren't covered by the agreement since the methane gas doesn't come from the land itself.

In the complaint filed in Superior Court, Eklutna is requesting half the money the city collects from Doyon, or rent payments in the amount of $130,000 monthly to compensate for rental of the land. The gas to electricity project is expected to create revenue in the amount of $48 million for the city.
