- Lakeshore Recycling Systems, a waste diversion and recycling company, has purchased recycling services provider Heartland Recycling. Both companies are based in Illinois.
- Lakeshore says that with the acquisition, the company will now be capable of processing 1.5 million tons of recyclables annually.
- The company has four MRFs and transfer stations in Chicago, and the acquisition of Heartland gives Lakeshore two additional MRFs and 500 commercial clients.

According to estimates from Lakeshore, the acquisition will generate over $100 million in revenue.
