- Pratt Industries broke ground at the site of its $260 million paper recycling plant in Valparaiso, Indiana yesterday.
- The plant will recycle corrugated cardboard from a nearby Pratt box factory. When completed, the facility will bring 100 jobs to the area.
- The plan for the facility was announced in September, with operations slated to begin in July of 2015.

The mayor of Valparaiso is excited, and during the ceremony said, "This is the kind of day mayors dream for, such an investment in the city." He added that the company, Pratt, is the biggest employer in the area. The Indiana Economic Corp. offered Pratt $1.2 million in performance-based tax credits to the company, in addition to $200,000 in training grants. NIPSCO, a natural gas provider in the area, offered $15 million in incentives, while the Northwest Regional Development Authority gave $1.4 million.
