According to the press release, Joseph Quarin, Progressive vice chairman and CEO said "Progressive Waste Solutions has evolved to the point where we can merge our U.S. and Canadian operations into a single leadership structure that will allow us to better leverage our size and scale to improve our strategic and operational execution."
Progressive has made the following executive-level changes: Tom Brown, senior vice president and CEO of U.S. Operations, will retire and be replaced by Joseph Quarin. Dan Pio will act as executive vice president of Strategy and Business Development. Kevin Walbridge will be the executive vice president and COO for the consolidated operations. Ian Kidson was named vice president and will continue his role of CFO.
