According to a press release, United Water has reached an agreement with Bensenville, Illinois to continue to maintain the Village's wastewater treatment facility for two years. United Water has been maintaining the facility since 2004. The contract renewal has a reported value of $4 million.
The Bensenville wastewater system includes a 4.7 million-gallon-per-day wastewater treatment facility, 19 lift stations, and three storm water pump stations. It serves approximately 20,800 residents. The new two-year contract took effect Jan. 1, 2012, and carries provisions for automatic annual renewal thereafter.
“United Water’s ability to provide a plethora of services from a single source will come in handy as we look to better maintain and upgrade our facility,” says Caracci. The effective partnership between United Water and the Village has been recognized by the Iowa/Illinois Safety Council for outstanding accident prevention, and by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for environmental compliance.
