• Geo-Tech Polymers and Intertek announced the companies received a non-objection letter (NOL) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 
• Geo-Tech, a plastic cleaning company, developed a proprietary method for removing coatings like ink, paint, films and labels from plastics, before the materials are reprocessed.
• The NOL covers all grades of plastics that have already been certified as FDA-approved.

The cleaning process provides clean recyclables that will enable food grade plastics to be recycled back into the same market in higher numbers than before- up to 100%. The process yields greater profits, as the residue can affect the value and usage of the recycled plastics if the coatings aren’t removed, and low-value plastics are converted into high-quality products.
