- Zero Waste Solutions started construction on a new recycling facility at a transfer station in Rochester, Massachusetts.
- The site is expected to process between 90 to 95% of all waste materials entering the plant, and is equipped to accept municipal solid waste, paper, e-waste, tin cans and construction debris.
- The 94,000 square foot plant, includes 80,000 square feet of solar panels, installed to produce electricity, and is expected to open in the summer of 2014.

Michael Camara, CEO of ABC Disposal, stated that "the technology is there to recycle the waste. We feel this is the technology that's going to replace landfills and waste energy plants. This is the future."
