SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 15, 2018
CRRA today announced the formation of a scholarship fund for young professionals (YPs) based in California. Funded through sponsor contributions and member donations, the scholarship fund will provide qualifying young professionals with a subsidy towards a full benefits membership in the CRRA.
“We recognize that young professionals often are faced with decisions about how to stretch their salary to create opportunities for professional growth and networking.” Said Jenna Abbott, CRRA Executive Director. “CRRA has long been the go-to association inside and outside of California with established experts tending to all facets of the state’s mission towards sustainability. This fund underscores CRRAs dedication to support a new and diverse cohort of professionals into the workforce and provides a way for those who are more established to sponsor the membership of qualifying young professionals by making a tax-deductible* donation to the fund. We could not be more pleased to offer the next generation a way to build their expertise and network in the industry.”
Members, sponsors and exhibitors will be offered the opportunity to donate towards the scholarship fund when they join or renew their memberships and during the registration process for the 2018 CRRA conference (http://www.CRRA.com/Conference) to be held in Oakland CA July 26-29. Attendees wishing to support the scholarship may choose to donate the difference between an early bird registration and a full registration or donate an amount of their choice. Additionally, a portion of each CRRA sponsor’s contribution will be earmarked for the fund. Those wishing to make a larger donation may contact the CRRA directly for more information.
