TruckPay, Inc. Launches AI-Powered License Plate Recognition (LPR) on MyTruckScales POS to Weigh Trucks Faster.

Today, TruckPay announced the release of the industry’s first AI-based License Plate Recognition (LPR) capability designed for use with its industry-leading scale and point-of-sale system, MyTruckScales® (mytruckscales.com).

LPR not only fully automates the truck identification process but also includes digital forensics on the E-Scale Ticket. This helps facilities using MyTruckScales POS to process more weighments in a day. Also, photos of the truck on the scale reduce customer disputes. 

TruckPay’s advanced LPR technology can replace legacy RFID tag systems. Instead, TruckPay‘s LPR can use virtually any IP camera to recognize the vehicle’s license plate and match it against a license plate stored in the MyTruckScales system’s vehicles database. Even when there is no existing match in the database, the license plate can still be used to identify and track the truck throughout the weighment process. Facility owners don’t need to buy expensive LPR specific cameras.

With the LPR feature, TruckPay has transformed the scale from being simply a device that measures weight to a complete transactional platform. With MyTruckScales POS, LPR triggers the weighment workflow that is designed specifically for that truck, incorporating pricing, invoicing, and payments, all in real time. A vehicle can be weighed and the resulting financial transaction can be processed in less than 10 seconds.
