Temu Works with Recupel, PV Cycle Belgium and Bebat to Support Sellers with EPR Compliance in Belgium

Temu, the global e-commerce platform, today announced that it has joined three Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) in Belgium — Recupel, PV CYCLE Belgium and Bebat — to support platform sellers fulfill their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations. These organizations are responsible for the financing and organization of the collection, treatment and recycling of three key waste streams on behalf of their members:

• Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE): Recupel connects sellers with accredited collectors and recyclers for compliant e-waste treatment.
• Photovoltaic Panels: PV CYCLE Belgium provides sellers access to established collection, reporting, and recycling infrastructure for solar panel waste.
• Batteries: Bebat guides sellers through local battery regulation, registration, and collects & recycles waste batteries.

By joining these collective EPR systems, Temu sellers must comply with Belgium’s EPR compliance framework, with the membership opening access to local solutions for registration, reporting, collection and recycling across relevant waste streams. Temu also continues to monitor the evolving regulatory environment and strengthen compliance together with PROs and sellers.

Temu has established cooperation with more than 60 Producer Responsibility Organizations across the European Union, covering key EPR categories including packaging, batteries, waste electrical and electronic equipment, and photovoltaic panels. These partnerships support sellers on Temu in meeting their EPR obligations while contributing to local collection and recycling systems across European markets.
