- Salt Lake County, Utah Mayor Ben McAdams is encouraging residents to recycle with a new campaign, “Start a new cycle — Recycle,” in the hopes to bring recycling to the attention of more citizens.
- The mayor is pushing the community to double the volume of recycling in the area, a rate which currently falls considerably lower than most cities in the U.S.; residents need to double the volume in the next two years to be in step with the national average.
- The new campaign will be featured on posters, displayed on a new website and included on recycling vehicles as an advertising wrap.

"Reaching this goal will be a win for our economy, a win for our wallets and a win for the environment," McAdams said.
