Waste Management Inc. took over Affordable Disposal & Recycling LLC of St. Joseph on Monday, with the promise to keep service rates the same in the near future.
Affordable Disposal has had a license and contract for collecting and transporting solid waste in Stearns County since 2007. It was owned by Chad Buekers.
“Affordable‘s customers now are customers of Waste Management,” said Julie Ketchum, spokeswoman for Waste Management, which operates in the St. Cloud area.
The purchase by the Houston-based provider of comprehensive waste management services in North America includes servicing Affordable Disposal’s almost 150 commercial customers and nearly 2,000 residential customers. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
