Dive Insight:
E360s, founded in 2018 and backed by BlackRock since 2023, has been working to scale its footprint across Canada through both organic growth and acquisitions, and it has picked up the M&A pace in recent years.
The vertically integrated company provides waste management, environmental and recycling services in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan. It’s headquartered in Aurora, Ontario.
Ardellini told Waste Dive in 2025 that E360S has been eyeing U.S. markets for several years, where he envisions becoming either the No. 1 player or No. 2 behind a publicly traded competitor. The company plans to focus on MSW, but could also pursue environmental services opportunities as they arise.
E360s had originally planned to expand into the U.S. years earlier, but factors such as the pandemic stretched the timeline, Ardellini said in the 2025 interview.
The company has over 800,000 customers and operates dozens of waste and recycling facilities, including one landfill in Saskatchewan. As of 2025, the company was generating close to 1 billion Canadian dollars in revenue.
The Marcotte deal strengthens E360s’ presence near the U.S./Canada border between Michigan and Ontario, particularly in the region just outside Detroit. E360s also operates close to that border with a Windsor, Ontario location that specializes in portable toilet services, according to the company’s website.
It’s not clear how the deal will impact Marcotte’s operations, but that company already operates in both countries. E360s did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the Marcotte deal, but announced in a LinkedIn post that it would welcome Marcotte CEO Tracey Kaplin, President Michael Griffin, “and the dedicated Marcotte team to the E360S family.”
In that same post, E360s announced it has also acquired related Ontario-based Transco Waste and Recycling Centre, which operates in Sarnia.
Additionally, E360s has acquired several other companies this year. In June, it announced it had acquired the waste collection assets of Alberta-based Caron’s Waste Management & Oilfield Service and the liquid waste collection assets of Monsieur Vide-Tout in Quebec.
