- Alpine Waste & Recycling of Commerce City, CO signed a five-year deal to provide Golden, CO with waste hauling and its single-stream Altogether Recycling services, adding 3,400 homes to the company's operations. The arrangement takes effect on Aug. 31.
- Alpine President John Griffith said, "Just in time for this partnership, we are opening a retooled recycling plant with a fresh $5 million investment; and we’ll have more details about that facility in coming weeks."
- The arrangement increases Alpine’s home pickup operations by nearly 9%.
Both the company and the town of Golden are pleased with the arrangement.
"Alpine Waste & Recycling was chosen for its ability to provide services that meet all current and long-term, anticipated requirements within the Golden community at a fair price," says Theresa Worsham, sustainability coordinator for Golden.
The town also notes that Alpine uses natural gas trucks and has a GPS system for efficient truck routes. Additionally, residents will benefit from single-stream recycling that will take in a greater variety of materials.
