Dive Insight:
It appears that an individual attempted to recycle a cardboard box filled with explosives. Workers phoned the police department and evacuated the vicinity. SPD Arson/Bomb Squad detectives were brought in to investigate further. The detectives dismantled and disposed of the materials. The homemade device was comprised of fireworks.
The bomb squad recently sprang into action in early July at the Vista landfill in Apopka, FL. Employees at the facility found a bomb, which, upon inspection, was labeled as fake.
